the heart of little peaks

Annie, Elizabeth, & Susan: The Heart of Little Peaks. Little Peaks would be nowhere without the love, goodwill, time, and expertise of its dedicated board members. Annie sine (Board Chair), Elizabeth, and Susan (longtime volunteer Grandmas and trustees) have been part of our expansion since Day One. They are the lifeblood of this organization, and we are so grateful for their leadership and love.

November 6, 2022. A brief interruption from our regular building updates to introduce our FALL FUND DRIVE, our new digital annual fund that will take place every November to help support Little Peaks. This year is a particularly important year. Not only are we launching a digital platform for our fundraising efforts, we are raising our goal by 500% in order to support our increasingly complex operations.

For thirty years, Little Peaks has been a simple operation: a half-day preschool in the Community Center. No bureaucratic licensure. No facilities. Part-time teachers. No state oversight. While the QUALITY is exceptionally high, OPERATIONS have remained fairly simple.

But now we are upping our game. We’ll enroll 32 children, work with state and county offices - from the Office of Children and Families Services to the Department of Education to the Department of Social Services - to run a fully-licensed center. We’ll be providing benefits and full-time income for 8 teachers. We’ll be running a commercial kitchen and working the Department of Health and Children and Adult Center Food Program. We’ll have professional development requirements. Not to mention our building! We have our gorgeous 1M+ building to care for, to keep warm, to clean, and to maintain.

This means we need more resources. We are turning to you - our most loyal supporters and interested friends. We are asking our community to support us as we start the clock - 6 month - to opening day. We are trying to raise $750,,000 for our Fall Fund Drive. Check out our infographic (below) to see how far we’ve come, and contribute here.

Here’s the good news - after one week, we’ve raised nearly $80,000!

Our community is showing up for us, and we are so grateful. Over the next three weeks, I’ll be sending weekly updates on our campaign progress and inviting you to participate!
