Front Page News

August 15, 2022. The Little Peaks story is on the front page of this weeks’ Lake Placid News! The feature article highlights the community-driven nature of the project; Lauren Yates (2022) writes, “Not only did private, local donors provide a $750,000 seed fund — which has now grown to $1.4 million — to kickstart the capital project, many of the people who are building Little Peaks are volunteering their time. Jewett Smith said the general contractor is a local who completely volunteered his time for the first year-and-a-half of work. The project’s lawyers and architect are working largely pro bono, too, with several others putting in full-time hours for free.”

The most recent piece builds on generous coverage earlier this month in NCPR and the Explorer. Then, over the weekend, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise published an editorial on the Little Peaks project entitled, “Small Community, Big Accomplishment.” The editorial lauds our “inspirational effort and it’s great news for Keene and the broader region.”

Little Peaks is thrilled to be generating so much community excitement in the press, and we are looking forward to welcoming friends, journalists, parents, trustees, volunteers, and neighbors to our next open house.
