Little Peaks in the Press
August 8, 2022. The Little Peaks story is gaining the attention of local media outlets - both North Country Public Radio (NCPR) and the Adirondack Explorer published feature overage about Little Peaks in the last week. The Explorer wrote that Little Peaks will “play at least a small part in alleviating a growing crisis that affects not just young families, but local governments, businesses and ultimately the tourism upon which the Adirondack economy is based” (Rowland, 2022). NCPR called Little Peaks a “unicorn” in an area that is doubling down on home-based day cares. Our institutional approach helps us stand out in the (barren) landscape of North Country Childcare.
Meantime, Little Peaks has been hosting community events to raise awareness of our important campaign. This week, teachers Kaycie and Anita hosted families at the Keene Valley Congregational Church 2022 Bazaar. They set up blocks, spin art, folding fans, and nature rubbing stations under a Maple tree on the KVCC lawn. Families with young children stopped by to learn more about our building project and learn about the future of Little Peaks.
This week, we’re inviting families, friends, volunteers, donors, and trustees to the Ausable Club casino for a public lecture on the state of our campaign on Wednesday, August 10 at 6:00 pm. Please join us to celebrate our progress and toast the future of Little Peaks. Next week, we’ll be opening up the construction site to the community for a walking tour of our new building on Tuesday, August 16 at 5:00 pm. Pray for cool weather!
In the meantime, please reach out to Reid if you'd like to tour the site with family and friends.
